It's that time of year again! We as a church have an opportunity to participate in a national event AND have a local impact. The efforts of the Souper Bowl of Caring work toward making the weekend of the big game an unprecedented time of giving and serving others. Our local community benefits from the monetary contributions and the food we collect for our charities of choice, and this year our mission gathering agreed upon equal division of collections to West End Ministries and Caring Services food pantries. Our youth and our congregation will join efforts with Emmanuel Lutheran to set an example of being united in an age of division, as well as to be stewards of our gifts from God as we share our abundance of resources. Please mark your calendars for Sunday, February 5 at 12 p.m. All are invited for soup, breads and dessert with minimum donation of $5/adult meal and $3/children's. Please be generous as your donations may make a difference for someone choosing between paying a utility bill or having food for their family.
